A Soviet scholar found a pyramid buried in the Arctic — and was executed before he could tell anyone what was inside.

This was the lost civilization the ancient Greeks called Hyperborea — and the deeper you look, the harder it becomes to write off as myth.

In 1922, Alexander Barchenko led an expedition to the Kola Peninsula, convinced that this ancient paradise wasn't just a legend but a real, lost civilization waiting to be found. What he discovered was a mountain with slopes too precise to be natural, a passage near the summit that locals refused to approach, and a member of his own team who collapsed screaming before he could take a single step inside.

Barchenko never made it through that entrance. Stalin's secret police executed him in 1938. The pyramid vanished from memory — until modern ground-scanning technology detected something vast and hollow directly beneath it.

Could Hyperborea be real — and is something still guarding it? Watch to find out.
