The files come from a variety of agencies: the Pentagon, NASA, CIA, FBI and Energy Department. The released files include dozens of documents, images, video and audio recordings from several governmental agencies, along with eyewitness testimonies from first-hand accounts of unexplained sightings.
A video and documents from a UFO sighting in Utah in 1952 were released along with documents from the U.S. Air Force "Project Blue Book" investigation.

The Pentagon posted the new files on its UFO website, which houses the material that has been released under an executive order that President Trump signed earlier this year.
What's in the new UFO files?

The disclosure is similar to past releases — a mix of mostly unredacted historical documents and videos with other files detailing more recent events.

Included in the files released Friday is a video and document related to an incident near Tremonton, Utah, on July 2, 1952, as part of the U.S. Air Force "Project Blue Book" program to investigate the nature and origin of unidentified flying objects (UFOs)

The UFO observance was made by Delbert C. Newhouse, a U.S. Navy Warrant Officer who specialized in photography. Newhouse reported that he observed 12 to 14 reflective objects and recorded the event on a color motion-picture film using a handheld Bell & Howell Auto Master camera.

The file describes the Air Force’s assessment of the principal witness, Delbert C. Newhouse, a U.S. Navy Warrant Officer specializing in photography, as honest and reliable, and as an expert with more than 1,000 hours of aerial-photography experience. Newhouse reported observing 12 to 14 reflective objects and recorded the event on color motion-picture film using a handheld Bell & Howell Auto Master camera.

The files show the "Project Blue Book" assessment of the imagery looked at several possible explanations — sunlight reflecting from birds or balloons, a mirage effect — but did not conclusively determine what the objects were, but later assessments "became more confident that the objects were seabirds reflecting sunlight, citing identifiable seabirds and similar films showing seabirds as bright points of light under comparable conditions."
