ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Stars of the hit ITV drama, Downton Abbey, along with its writer and creator Julian Fellowes and other celebrities, attended a charity screening of season five's first episode at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square on Wednesday (September 17).
On the carpet - which rather than being red, was of the Downton Abbey period - stars reacted to Scotland's upcoming historic independence referendum poll.
Downton cast member Jim Carter, who plays Mr Carson the butler, said, "I won't comment on that, I'm English for god's sake. Let them vote and all I want is them all to vote,"
However, the writer and creator of Downton Abbey, Julian Fellowes, was more outspoken, remarking, "I would be sorry to see the union lost, but I feel quite strongly this is a matter for the people of Scotland and, you know, we keep harrying them from down here and telling them what they can't have if they vote this way and so on. I think we should leave them alone
