The Chilean government introduced a new presidential advisory council to propose measures to combat corruption. The 16 member council will recommend measures for dealing with conflicts of interest between government officials and politicians and private companies. The announcement comes on the heels of the Penta corruption scandal in which politicians from across the political spectrum were accused of tax fraud, money laundering, and influence peddling. teleSUR
