At least 16 people were were killed in the Mexican state of Guerrero in a shootout between members of opposing factions of a local self-defense organization, one of which is accused of having links to the New Generation drug cartel. The incident took place in the northern limits of the tourist resort city of Acapulco. Police made no arrests and could not locate the victims' bodies. Gunman often remove victims' bodies so as to hamper investigations and make identification difficult. teleSUR
