Hands down, this is probably the best level that has ever been constructed. This level is superior not only to anything found in the original game, but to any other game I have ever played. This is the ultimate example, the fruition of everything harnessed into a single spectacular level that outshines everything else around it.
Why, you might ask, do I find this an amazing level? It is quite obviously just another test level by the QuakeLab, which we know therefore promises limited to no gameplay while advertised differently by Aftershock. We don't even have the prettiness of some other examples like their Slime-based level, this is just pure essentials.
To anyone that just stated the above, you have yet to understand the underlying power of this level. We have a Teleporter. We also have a box. The goal of the level is to get on the box by using a Teleporter. A lot of people will just walk through the Teleporter a couple times, like I showed off in the video. However, that does not show off the level's full potential.
The thing that makes this level better than any other level is its perfect replayability and sustainability. Most levels have a beginning point and an end point. Even levels that don't end, if they are Single Player oriented at least, have some point you can determine as being an end point.
This level on the other hand offers hours of fun, nonstop action, and continual movement. The level never ends unless you shut down the game and you always have something to do. You just need to have an obsession to go through the Teleporter to reach the exit. Of course, the Teleporter just dumps you on the top of a nearby box. But that just means you get the fun of trying again!
I recommend this level especially in coop games. Forget killing each other with guns, instead have each other take turns standing on a box and being killed by the other player! Add a bunch more and the mayhem increases! Great to burst out of parties. Now, we just need to get the energy to leave this level long enough to go outside and make some friends.
Overall, this level makes every other level I have ever played seem lame. The original game is garbage and Dark Hour is only okay. Q2 is a masterpiece in its own right, but still it does not manage to touch this level in replayability. Forget replayability, it is hard to stop this level once! Great for players who have no lives and find themselves blasting through other Quake levels too quickly.
