00:00The sexual exploitation of girls has really become a national crisis and the public needs
00:06to hear these stories.
00:08Girls who are unable to protect themselves from those who sell and abuse them because
00:13so many of us are unaware or don't care about their plight.
00:18The age of entry into trafficking is 12 to 14 years old.
00:24These are children.
00:25These are our children and if we don't do something about it, who will?
00:30For the first time, the general public is getting a glimpse into how pervasive sex trafficking
00:36is.
00:37While there are as many suspected cases of trafficking victims in the states as there
00:44are murders, 75% of the murders are resolved and less than 1% of those trafficking cases
00:49are even looked into.
00:50I broke out the bracelet and I went and called the police.
01:04You know, it's a really big and global picture.
01:07It's partially our society, partially our family, partially our schools.
01:11I don't think there's any one area where we can point a finger and say, this is the problem.
01:18If we are subsidizing this really pernicious view of sexuality and the objectification
01:24of women, the objectification of young girls, then we're part of the problem.
01:33You know, when somebody tells you, if you say something, they're going to kill your
01:37mom and your family, you're not going to say anything because you don't want the people
01:43that you love most to get hurt.
01:46There are many young women and girls who have become hooked on drugs and they may not
01:54yet consider themselves prostitutes, but they are looking for a way to help fund that need
02:00and so they are turning to selling themselves for money.
02:06For the drugs, I get them wherever I could from pretty much anyone and I felt that I
02:12had to pay them back somehow.
02:15These girls, these children are here, living and dying in our cities, in our towns.
02:22We don't see them because we don't want to.
02:24We don't help them because we tell ourselves that we can't.
02:29Finding out that one of the girls that have been missing has been found dead somewhere,
02:34that's a tremendous loss and no parent should ever have to go through that.
02:39I hope that everybody listening to this extraordinarily important documentary will find the time
02:46to get involved, to help, because the urgency is now.
