Angry redditors think EA has joined the Dark Side.

The corporate video game giant Electronic Arts released a Star Wars game “Battlefront II” with one major mistake: it included in-game purchases that would allow players to buy access to powerful characters like Darth Vader instead of unlocking them. Critics are calling it ‘gambling,’ arguing that it makes the game unfair and favors paying players.

EA tried to justify its decision but faced massive backlash, earning it the most downvoted comment in Reddit history and a flood of negative press. The company backtracked turning off in-game purchases, for now.
