Pilotocopiloto is an experimental rock duo conformed by musicians Juan Pablo Aragon (guitar, loops and effects) and Carlos Freyre (drums and programming).
After sharing the stage during jam sessions at a local bar, in January 2008 they decided to meet at Carlos´ home studio to improvise and get to know each other a little better.
Since their first rehearsal, Carlos and Juan Pablo developed a creative connection and the first songs started to show up. A blend of atmospheres, colors and instrumental textures quickly became part of their musical approach, heavily influenced by freeform and contemporary electronic music.
In February 2010, Pilotocopiloto edited their self-titled debut album, which received good reviews by the local media. Their second album, entitled Amerizaje, was released in 2012 under the record label Automatic Entertainment.
Both musicians participate in side projects that reflect their widespread musical tastes:
• In 2014, Juan Pablo released an album with composer and violinist Pauchi Sasaki under the label Buh Records. In 2016, he formed Los Olivos with guitarist and vocalist Sandra Villarreal and released a cosmic folk debut album influenced by incidental music.
• In 2011, Carlos joined instrumental post rock band Kinder and released the band´s second album entitled Archipielago. In 2013, he formed Crik Faluzi along with his brother, Eduardo Freyre, and guitarist Gustavo Rizo Patron. In 2014, the indie rock band released a self-titled debut EP that included five simple, hypnotic, melody oriented songs.
Pilotocopiloto is now focused on playing live shows and developing new ideas.
