Flights and Falls began as two high school freshmen, jamming and bonding over their favourite bands in their Thursday lunch hour guitar club. Two years later, then sixteen-year-old Elena and Lucas joined forces to write their first song for a high school band competition. Said song was debuted on stage at the Toronto Centre for the Arts to an audience of over a thousand, marking the duo's first performance. Over the next three years, with a catalogue of folk-inspired indie rock ballads under their belts, the two hit the stages of their native Toronto - including the Free Times Café, The Central, and the Roncy Rocks! and Parkdale Fireside Festivals. The duo were selected performers at Folk Music Ontario's 2013 Youth Showcase, and at the second annual TIFF Next Wave Battle of the Scores. Now nineteen years old, and with an album's worth of material written, Flights and Falls continue to home record and produce original music, constantly exploring new directions and influences.
