In just two weeks of the COVID-19 State of Disaster being declared, the City of Johannesburg blew R80 million on emergency procurement. It is alleged at least R5 million was used for office cleaning, R2,600 per thermometer, and R90 for a single mask. These are just some of the numbers which reveal how much the City was ripped off by several companies.
