00:00Hi, my name is Ava Keenan. I'm a 10-year-old mogul skier.
00:03I started mogul skiing at around 7, and ever since then I've loved this sport.
00:07My goals are to be the first black mogul skier to ever win the gold in the Olympics,
00:12and I also want to win three gold medals back-to-back in the Olympics as well.
00:30So, this year has been a really successful year, jumps-wise.
01:00So, right now I've been working on a 360 nuke grab.
01:24And that's actually coming along really well.
01:26But the thing I'm mostly excited about is I just landed my 720 a few days ago.
01:37So, I've been really trying to get reps with that because I'm trying to get it for my upcoming competitions.
01:44This year, my first competition went horribly.
01:48I had horrible errors my first runs. I think they only scored 20s.
01:52And then my second run, I fell.
01:54And I ended up getting 12th, when normally I do a lot better than that.
01:58And I was just really thinking about why I was having such a bad attitude.
02:03I was thinking about how stupid that is, because that's in the past. You can't change that.
02:08And then my next competition, I came first.
02:12So, I was really just working my way up and up and up and up,
02:16because I just kept a good attitude, or I tried at least, to get it through the whole entire season.
02:20Being the youngest competitor out there at 10, competing against 13 and 14-year-old girls,
02:26just makes me feel like I have to work that much harder, because they have 3-4 years on me.
02:51I really enjoy skiing with my dad.
02:56I mean, I like skiing with my family sometimes too, but not all of them are mogul skiers, so they kind of get left behind.
03:02So, I normally like skiing with my dad, because we just try and get out and rip as much as possible,
03:06whether it's a powder day, an icy day, we always have fun.
03:09Are you better than your dad?
03:10Yeah, no questions asked.
03:13Would your dad say that?
03:15No, he keeps trying to say that he's better, but we all know he's not.
