Chinese sea goddess Mazu worshipping in Shenzhen, Shekou Nanshan area during the Ming Dynasty. The Mazu worshipping is a folk custom prevalent along China's southeastern coast, where people seek blessing and protection when traveling by sea. Mazu belief and customs have been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
