01:01 Speaking with FMT Lifestyle, Yong said it was a matter of circumstance
01:06 that he fell into this niche industry when he was 18.
01:10 Having failed to secure a job after graduation,
01:14 it happened that his locksmith uncle was looking for an apprentice.
01:18 Without thinking much of it, Yong took up the offer.
01:22 Yong has now been in the business for close to 20 years,
01:26 and even took over his uncle's store when he retired.
01:30 What keeps Yong going is the satisfaction he gets from being able to open a lock,
01:36 a feeling that hasn't changed since he first picked up the craft.
01:40 So, what services does David Locksmith provide?
01:45 Replicating keys, electric gate or car remotes,
01:49 and, of course, opening or changing customers' locks.

01:54 With the advancement of technology over the years,
01:57 Yong admits it can be difficult to keep track of the latest high-tech locks that are available.
02:03 So, the only thing he can do when he comes across them is learn,
02:07 and keep practicing to master opening them.
