The Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLab Edition laptop delivers a surprisingly immersive 3D gaming experience compared to previous 3D laptops, and Acer has optimized over 100 games. But it's on the pricey side at over $3,000 and it doesn't have the latest specs.

00:00 One of the biggest trends here at CES 2023 are OLED displays, especially those for gamers.
00:05 And today we have two monitors from Acer, one 27 inches, one 45 inches, and it has one
00:11 of the biggest curves we've ever seen.
00:13 I'm actually getting dizzy.
00:18 All right, so today we're taking a look at the Predator X45.
00:22 So this is one of the most immersive gaming displays I've ever seen.
00:25 And part of the reason why is because this is an OLED panel that gives you 240 hertz
00:31 refresh rate and it's an 800R curved monitor.
00:35 So in a way, it's the best of both worlds.
00:39 It's also compatible with AMD FreeSync premium software for even better performance if you're
00:44 using an AMD gaming PC.
00:46 Having a curved monitor basically, it makes you feel like in this particular case that
00:50 you're in the cockpit.
00:51 So the idea is that you're in the center of the action and that the world around you is
00:55 almost shut off.
00:57 It's kind of like having a VR headset without having to put on a headset.
01:02 So the Predator X45 will come out in Q2 for $1699 and it's definitely very bright at a
01:07 thousand nits.
01:10 And what's really good for console gamers is that there's a KVM switch built in as well
01:14 as a USB hub so that you can switch between your console and PC if you want to.
01:20 So you basically have your choice of gaming system when it comes to having a curved and
01:25 very immersive gaming experience.
01:29 For gamers that are looking for something a little bit smaller, the Predator X27U will
01:33 be coming out this year.
01:34 This goes for $1000.
01:36 It's still an OLED panel.
01:37 You're still getting a 240 hertz refresh rate, but without the curve.
01:41 But this is actually really good for a compact design and you can tell that the bezels are
01:46 very thin around this panel and it's a pretty bright picture.
01:50 You're still getting the same 1000 nits as well.
01:53 So if you want something that is colorful and fast enough for gaming, but also something
01:58 that's relatively compact, this could be a good value at least among OLED displays.
02:04 That's pretty good color.
02:09 After taking a look at the Predator X45 and X27, I'm actually kind of torn in terms of
02:14 which one I would want in my living room.
02:16 I like the curve, especially in terms of like immersive gaming and really getting into it.
02:20 But the 27 inch is something that I wish I had on my desk every day for productivity
02:24 and for play.
