00:01 Hello, this is Tizine.
00:02 Hi, Tizine.
00:03 Hi, Tizine.
00:04 Hi, how are you doing?
00:05 Hi.
00:05 Oh, my God.
00:08 I can't believe that I'm speaking with you both right now.
00:10 [laughs]
00:11 The Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund
00:14 is an investment in young people
00:16 that are shaping a more equitable
00:18 and inclusive technology future.
00:20 The Youth Power Fund is supporting 26 organizations
00:24 from around the United States
00:25 that are focused on the whole spectrum
00:28 of responsible technology, from harm mitigation
00:32 to ensuring equitable access to the benefits of technology
00:35 to using technology as a platform
00:38 to address some of the biggest challenges
00:40 that this next generation is facing.
00:43 Congratulations, this is great.
00:53 And we're so happy to have you as part of this team.
00:54 Really, thank you for all the work you're doing.
00:56 It's huge, it's making an enormous impact.
00:59 It was like young people were empowered and emboldened
01:01 to say things to me online
01:03 that they would never say to me in person.
01:06 And so my vision was...
01:07 Can we actually stop the cyberbullying
01:09 at the source with the cyberbully
01:12 via a behavioral approach
01:13 that actually teaches young people to pause and rethink?
01:17 This is amazing.
01:18 This is exactly why we do what we do.
01:19 This is exactly why the Youth Power Fund was created.
01:22 You know, so many different opportunities
01:24 have presented itself to really uplift our message
01:26 and to continue our work to inform legislation
01:29 and to create a safe online world for young people,
01:33 for the next generation,
01:35 for your kids and so many other people
01:37 that need to be protected
01:38 and to have their digital rights maintained.
01:41 Social media was a major area
01:43 that I think in many ways is a lot helpful
01:45 to a lot of people,
01:46 but at the same time creates huge harms for so many people,
01:49 especially in terms of mental health.
01:52 And so I had to get involved
01:53 because I think young people need to be heard
01:56 in order for politicians to take action on this issue.
01:58 I got involved in a legislative advocacy initiative
02:01 in my home state of California here in the US.
02:04 And I actually came across an investigation
02:08 that found that there were algorithms being used
02:11 in our legal system here in the US
02:13 that are actually biased against clock dependence.
02:16 Thank you for doing everything that you do.
02:17 Our kids especially are incredibly grateful.
02:20 They don't know it yet.
02:21 They don't know it yet.
02:22 But they will.
02:23 So good to talk to you.
02:24 Bye.
02:25 Bye, have a good one.
02:27 Bye.
