00:00 Regarding the planned talks with the Kenya Kwanzaa, we are here to announce that we are ready.
00:08 We are particularly ready to return to Bomas of Kenya.
00:13 We continue regarding Bomas of Kenya as a sacred ground when it comes to the quest for reform, change and national healing.
00:25 Our team remains as previously announced.
00:30 One is his excellency Stephen Kalonzo Musioka, who is the delegation leader.
00:38 Two, Honorable James Sapir Wandai, leader of minority party, who will be the spokesperson for the delegation.
00:50 Honorable Eugene Wamaluwa, party leader of DAP.
00:56 Honorable Kamlo Mugen Nyamira and Honorable Aminu Nyanzi, MP Malindi.
01:07 The issues for discussion from our side remain.
01:13 One, cost of living. Two, audit of the 2022 presidential election results.
01:24 Three, restructuring and reconstitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and related matters.
01:36 Four, measures to prevent interference with political parties.
01:43 Five, outstanding constitutional matters, that is governance issues, adequate checks and balances and the equation of boundaries delimitation.
01:57 As we said earlier, the team we have picked reflects the importance we attach to these talks.
02:07 We picked the team with a full understanding that the country is on a wrong trajectory.
02:15 Anyone who thinks otherwise is being delusional.
02:20 With this reality in mind, we have put in place a technical and legal team to support our delegation to the dialogue.
02:31 Consequently, we have settled on Honorable Jeremiah Kioni, the Secretary General of the Jubilee Party, to head the legal and technical team to the talks.
02:45 You have tasked our delegation and our technical teams, under the able leadership of His Excellency Kalonzo and Kioni, to go to these talks with courage of and open minds.
03:03 It takes courage and open minds to establish common ground in situations of dispute.
03:13 You have told our delegation, and we want all Kenyans to understand, that engaging in honest dialogue does not amount to surrender or cowardice.
03:29 You must see it as an act of strength and a matter of common sense.
03:35 We remain committed to negotiating in good faith on the basis of a plan to achieve a comprehensive settlement of the country's problems through dialogue.
03:49 We stand for transparent, aboveboard and speedy talks, guided by decorum, honesty and respect for the people of Kenya.
