00:00 a career lasting 46 years in the same place, how does it feel for your family to be coming
00:04 to a close? I'll be sad, very sad, but I think I'm ready
00:09 now to go. There have been a lot of changes, some for the good, some for the not so good,
00:16 but I am now ready to go. Can you tell me what's kept you here for
00:21 all that time? Probably the customers. Being in this community
00:26 in Rosegrove, I've seen lots of changes, you know, adults having babies, you know,
00:34 and their babies, and their babies, their babies. So that's what's made me stay really.
00:40 I never wanted to work anywhere else, even though I could have gone elsewhere when I
00:45 had my technician certificate, but no, I just, I love the community in Rosegrove. I lived
00:55 here a long time before I got the job here, I got the job when I was 15, and I've just
01:02 absolutely loved it, really have. What have been the highlights for you, do
01:07 you think? The highlights have been giving back to the
01:12 community and doing all that, the charity work for the community. The highlights, definitely
01:19 when I did the schools, when they did all the paintings and drawings that they sent
01:25 out to, during Covid, that they sent out to the elderly, that was really, it was such
01:32 a lovely thing. The kids really got into it, and some of the poems that they wrote, and
01:37 the little messages, absolutely like, brought me to tears, you know, so that's definitely
01:42 one of the highlights, yeah. And it must have been a difficult time through
01:46 Covid for you, because obviously you were one of the main services that people relied
01:50 on. This is it, it was, it was awful, it was,
01:54 especially the first couple of months, when everything went crazy, and we didn't know
02:00 exactly what we were doing, you know, as far as masks, gloves, everything, yeah, it was
02:08 awful. It brought out the best in a lot of people, but I'm afraid it brought out the
02:12 worst as well, unfortunately. But it was, that was, in all the 46 years, that's got
02:19 to be the worst time I've ever worked here. It was terrible, but we got through it, we
02:25 really got through it.
