00:00 And we stay in Brazil, where the Rural Women's Rally Marcha das Margaridas continues in Brasilia.
00:05 Our correspondent, Ryan Muir, brings us the details.
00:10 An estimated crowd of around 100,000 came out onto the streets of Brazil's capital,
00:15 Brasilia, today for the seventh March of the Margaridas.
00:20 It's a women's march sponsored by the National Rural Workers Union Federation, who bust in
00:27 tens of thousands of rural working women from all 26 Brazilian states.
00:35 The demands of the march this year were dual-fold.
00:37 First, they want the government to pay more attention to the "Bem-viver" or "good living"
00:42 movement, which involves agroecology, like more sponsorship for organic foods and elimination
00:50 of pesticides and things like that.
00:52 And also, they're demanding that the government reinstate all of the laws and policies that
00:58 were eliminated after the 2006 coup against Dilma Rousseff in favor of big extractivist
01:06 industries, mining, logging, and soy and beef cultivation, often in parts of deforested
01:13 former rainforest.
01:14 Now, at the end of the march, a group of over 20 national politicians took the stage, including
01:20 President Lula himself, thanking them and promising to do what they can to ensure that
01:28 their objectives are reached in the current Lula government.
