00:08 The Manas Mawjugandri Eco Tourism Society
00:11 is a community-based society for conservation and ecotourism.
00:15 The main objective of the initiative
00:17 was to revive the depleted manas with a huge community
00:20 participation in conservation and to make manas free
00:23 from endangered tech of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
00:27 Today, we can proudly say that we have successfully
00:30 achieved this goal.
00:32 When the nationwide lockdown started in India,
00:35 the poor prince villagers of Manas National Park
00:38 compelled to give up their respective jobs
00:40 of their daily life.
00:43 The free ration supplied by the government
00:45 also didn't reach to their families.
00:48 Many innocent people had to go fasting.
00:51 But we do not have enough money to help them
00:54 because the little money we make from our ecotourism activities
01:00 is used for conservation purposes
01:02 and to help the ex-purchase families.
01:05 Therefore, we started a campaign to raise some funds
01:09 at social media like Facebook, Kato, WhatsApp.
01:13 And we had a very good response from various corners
01:17 of the country.
01:18 In this way, we could help 2,140 households in 24 villages.
01:24 First, we gave away the ration materials
01:27 to every needy families.
01:29 Later, when government PDS ration supply reached,
01:33 we had to take care of families who do not
01:36 possess the ration cards.
01:37 We provided jobs to 12 women in the area
01:42 who had to come back home, leaving their job at the weaving
01:45 center at other districts.
