00:00 What is a carbon neutral homestay? We talk about a homestay but what is a carbon neutral homestay? A homestay that has water heating. The water heater you don't use firewood, you use sun's energy. To generate electricity you use the sun. You have clean cooking solutions. Less firewood consumption. You have zero plastic. How many of you use plastic in your homestays? Plastic zero.
00:29 Boil water, give it to the guest. No plastic. And give traditional food. This is how a homestay looks like. It's a boutique homestay. People think when it is a homestay it will be a low standard. Why do homestays have to be a low standard?
00:47 Why can't a homestay be a high quality, high standard kind of a homestay? The place where you feel as an owner, if you are running that homestay, imagine if you travel somewhere and if you get that amenity, will you be happily staying in that homestay?
01:01 So it is about creating homestays that look beautiful. Now how do we ensure that in Garo area we have been working on solar electrification, we have been working on health care. How are we ensuring that even the homestays where we work, the food that is made is made with less firewood consumption?
01:19 And so for that I would like to invite Sinali from my team who will talk about what we are doing with the communities to allow them to cook food with less firewood consumption.
01:28 firework.
