00:00 It was a kiss not on her list.
00:02 So says Jenny Hermoso, star player of the Spanish football team that beat England for
00:07 the FIFA Women's World Cup title on Sunday, who has since been thrust into another spotlight
00:13 when she received a sudden and spontaneous kiss on her lips from Spanish Football Federation
00:17 chief Luis Rubiales during the medal ceremony.
00:21 What seemed as an innocuous lip smack provoked outrage not only in Spain, but all over the
00:26 planet.
00:27 Some liberals and progressive groups tagged it as scandalous and opportunistic, some even
00:32 calling it outright assault and demanding Rubiales be fired or held into stricter account.
00:38 Spanish football boss Luis Rubiales has since apologized after the fallout and after Spain's
00:43 sports minister demanded for an apology Monday.
00:46 He said that while the 1-0 victory in Spain's first ever title was a moment of joy and intense
00:52 emotions, public officials need to show respect to all, especially to underlings.
