00:00 Hi, Chris Byrne here, Yorkshire Post Business and Features Editor. A bit of exciting news
00:08 for you in the business community today. The Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards
00:13 2023 nominations are now open. We had about 300 entries last year, some fantastic entries,
00:23 really high standard. I think this year it could be even better. We've changed the format
00:29 a bit. We've got some new categories. There's a new apprentice/trainee of the year. There's
00:34 a new business in the community award. And we've also got, for the first time, we're
00:39 opening up our lifetime achievement award, which we call an outstanding contribution
00:43 to business for nominations. That was previously chosen internally, but having spoken to so
00:49 many fantastic business people across Yorkshire over the last year or two, I really felt that
00:57 having the chance for people to nominate excellent people that we might not have heard of was
01:03 a great opportunity. So I'm really hopeful that we get some fantastic entries, particularly
01:07 in that category. The event itself will be taking place in November, on November 22nd
01:14 at Headingley Stadium. We expect to have more than 400 people in attendance. And it's going
01:18 to be hosted by BBC Look North presenter Amy Garcia, someone who I'm sure you all know
01:24 very well. Looking forward to the event. Get your entries in and good luck.
