00:00 Loki season one is such a so beloved by fans.
00:03 I wanted, how did you want to approach following up
00:06 that season without losing the momentum of it?
00:09 - Tom and I had a lot of conversations,
00:11 even as we were finishing season one,
00:13 about how we could keep the momentum going into this.
00:16 I think there was a lot of conversations early on
00:19 with our department heads of the world
00:22 that Michael and Kate kind of helped build
00:25 in that season one was beloved
00:28 and that we wanted to honor that
00:30 and kind of dive deeper into that world and see more of it.
00:34 But also the idea of we can't just go back
00:37 and play the hits.
00:38 Even if we recapture that magic,
00:40 it probably wouldn't be as fulfilling.
00:42 And so it was just about,
00:45 the mantra was always stick with the character,
00:47 stick with the world,
00:48 and just dive deeper into those themes
00:50 that were introduced in season one.
00:52 If season one was about identity,
00:53 well, like you don't just wake up and go,
00:55 I know who I am.
00:56 Like that continues.
00:58 And it's just high stakes now.
01:00 Are they're dealing with the ramifications of their choices?
01:04 And this season two wanted to be about a constant,
01:07 almost like infinite series of difficult decisions
01:11 that have to be made.
01:13 And so that maybe we question,
01:15 are they taking the right path?
01:16 But like seeing character choices in action,
01:22 we felt would be a revealing way
01:25 to see what truly makes them up.
