The government's announcement to lower the entertainment duty to zero for local artists and from 25% to 10% for international artists performing in the country can be a catalyst for economic growth, especially through tourism activities.

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil also said the announcement of several funds including RM900 million under the supervision of Bank Negara Malaysia for small and medium-sized enterprises will encourage these groups to adopt applications and 5G technology.

00:00 or our response.
00:02 Especially for digital communication,
00:05 there must be some very good announcements.
00:08 For example, we see that the entertainment duty
00:12 for local artists in the area of Sulawesi and Kuala Lumpur
00:16 has been reduced to SIFA,
00:18 while for international artists who perform in Malaysia,
00:23 it was reduced from 25% to 10%.
00:26 We hope this will generate more activity
00:30 and also be a catalyst for economic growth
00:35 through tourism, among others.
00:37 We also welcome the announcement of some funds,
00:42 including RM900 million,
00:44 provided by the Bank of Malaysia
00:48 for automation and digitalization purposes.
00:52 This will help small and medium-sized companies
01:00 to adopt 5G applications and technologies.
01:07 As the Minister has said,
01:11 we expect that 5G will reach 80% by the end of this year.
01:19 We hope that this will be a great opportunity
01:24 for not only the local people,
01:26 but also for companies,
01:28 especially PKS, to fully benefit from this.
01:30 Thank you.
