00:00 Newcastle and Crystal Palace last season, all three meetings between the two sides finished scoreless.
00:06 But it took less than four minutes for Jacob Murphy to buck that trend, with VAR playing a role.
00:13 "On by Murphy! Oh, it's offside!"
00:17 "Is he onside? I think he is!"
00:20 "St. James' Park is about to erupt! And they will take that! An early goal!"
00:28 It did look as though the matchup may revert back to form after the Anthony Gordon miss.
00:34 But he wasn't missing this one, off the lovely feed from Murphy.
00:38 "Again it's Jacob Murphy! Gordon! The football is flowing! And the goals are coming!"
00:45 They certainly were for Newcastle, as Sean Longstaff made it 3-0 just three minutes later.
00:51 "A fabulous first half! A pulsating performance!"
00:56 Their torrid pace slowed in the second, although Callum Wilson got in on the action before his day was done.
01:04 "Well he just had to, didn't he? He's about to be replaced, he was running out of time, so go and score!"
01:12 A fifth wasn't on the cards, but Nick Pope ensured the clean sheet at the other end.
01:18 "Oddson-Edouard steps forward, and Nick Pope hasn't had much to do, but he was there when called upon."
01:25 4-0 the final score.
01:28 "A brilliant performance from Eddie Howe's team today."
