00:00 Australia were looking to extend their lead at the top of Group I as they travel to Kuwait
00:04 to take on Palestine in the second round of World Cup qualifiers.
00:08 Having put seven past Bangladesh last Thursday, the Socceroos would find themselves on the
00:12 back foot early on.
00:20 Harry Soutar may have fallen out of favour at Leicester this season.
00:23 The big centre-half's nose for goal for the national outfit continued as he opened the
00:27 scoring for the second time in five days.
00:40 Ryan Strain would be forced off with a groin injury, while Australia's captain did his
00:44 part with the gloves to keep the lead intact heading into the break.
00:48 A delightful combination between Mitch Duke and Brandon Borrello almost had the Socceroos'
00:58 lead doubled but for the save from Rami Hamadi, while Jordan Boss should have made the most
01:03 of a huge chance from the following corner.
01:10 Palestine would go on the hunt for an equaliser, but Odey Debar couldn't find a way to trouble
01:15 Ryan in the closing stages.
01:16 With just the one goal on the evening enough to see Australia move four points clear at
01:21 the top of Group I.
