06:38 "This is clearly a communication campaign.
06:42 The EU is trying to make things work in Hungary.
06:46 There are inflationary crises everywhere, especially in Hungary, but there are other
06:49 problems as well.
06:50 The government wants to blame all governments, and the Hungarian government has been going
06:55 on for a long time.
06:57 I think it's a very bad strategy."
07:00 The accompanying poster campaign this time aimed at the head of the Commission, Ursula
07:04 von der Leyen, linking her to the new head of the Open Society Foundations, son of the

09:01 Several causes are creating a kind of perfect storm.
09:06 Nearly 390,000 houses are missing across the country, according to this professor from
09:12 Delft University.
09:14 "The reason is that we didn't build so much housing last ten years, so we had a drop in
09:20 housing production and we had a quite steep increase of population because of migration,
09:26 especially labour migration, which is quite high.
09:29 And last year we had, of course, people from the Ukraine, but it's especially labour migration.
09:35 So there's much more demand for housing nowadays than ten years ago and we produce less housing,
09:41 so that gives a shortage."
09:43 Only in the city of Amsterdam there are about 3,000 so-called homeless people, people without

10:10 people by matching their needs with house owners who have rooms to spare and can rent
10:14 one at a modest price between 250 and 600 euros per month.
10:21 "We try to give them a temporary spot to regain energy, get out of the survival mode
10:30 of having this stress constantly, to be thinking from where am I going to sleep, how am I going
10:36 to keep my job if I cannot shower, where am I going to cook my food, how am I going to
10:41 survive this.
10:43 We try to give them at least for 12 months a solid spot to get rest and help them to
10:51 make plans for the future."
10:53 De Regerbog also tries to accommodate people in empty offices or houses to be renovated
10:57 or demolished.

11:32 The calculations were made using a new method based on aggregation of mortality data on
11:37 a weekly level.
