India lost the final to Australia, and Madan Lal blames mental issues for failing to get over the line.
Transcript
00:00 I think it's a bit sad, you know, India has done very well.
00:03 They won all the 10 matches and the last they didn't cross the line.
00:11 I think definitely, because the way that Dream was playing, the way their bowling attack
00:16 was performing, we actually, if you ask me, I was thinking that India will go through
00:26 it, you know.
00:27 But at the end of the day, when Australia came into the final, then I said it's a 50-50
00:33 game, it's not a game which you can easily win.
00:40 I think he's fantastic, you know, he's a world champion.
00:45 Superb player, you know, you can say that.
00:47 Because the good thing about him is the way he looks after himself, the way he approaches
00:53 the game, his attitude, plus, you know, if you see that when he's batting, we always
00:59 knew that if he bats for 10 to 15 minutes, 20 minutes, he will get 100 runs.
01:05 And the other good thing about him is he looks at the scoreboard, he plays according to the
01:12 situation of the game, like Trevor had played yesterday.
01:19 He matured in the Test Matches World Cup Championship and 2020 World Cup Championship,
01:30 but in this World Cup, I think he's done a great job.
01:34 But yesterday, I believe that he was not that sort of thing, because maybe he didn't have
01:44 a good score on the board, that's why I think he struggled yesterday.
01:52 Because he tried a couple of things, but I don't think Australian made any mistake of
01:58 winning the Cup.
01:59 A little bit of a mental issue, you can say that.
02:06 But you know, like in the final, if you make mistakes, then you have no chance of winning
02:14 it.
02:15 You have to have less mistakes, you know.
02:19 That's the only way you can win.
02:21 Mental issues, yes, you can say that, because of the last 10 ICC Trophies, we played in
02:29 the final, but we didn't win.
02:33 That can be addressed, you know.
02:35 I would say like that.
