00:00 Good afternoon it's Chris here, your top three stories today, Wednesday December the 13th.
00:04 That's it from me, have a great day and we'll see you tomorrow.
00:07 Number one, drunken Leeds partner slashed woman's face with broken plate and kicked her unconscious.
00:14 And number two, no old manor care home in Morley looks set for closure
00:17 as Leeds City Council desperately tries to save cash.
00:20 And number three, jet two adds extra Leeds Bradford airport flights
00:24 to three European holiday destinations after huge demand.
00:29 What's the best thing about being part of a small company?
00:31 I think one of the best things about being part of a small company
00:35 is you get a lot more recognition for what you do.
00:38 You work closely with your colleagues and quite often the business owners,
00:42 whereas when you're part of a big company you just become faceless and very much a number.
00:48 Yeah and what things do you have on offer here?
00:51 So we're selling pastel de lata which is a Portuguese custard tart,
00:56 if we were to describe it in English.
00:58 It's a classic sort of breakfast pastry in Portugal or just an all time of the day pastry really.
01:05 Coffee and a nata is a very traditional thing to do in Portugal.
01:09 Of course, so this is a traditional pastel de lata.
01:13 Just cut that open there so you can see exactly what it is.
01:16 So you've got a layered filo pastry with like a rich sort of creamy vanilla centre.
01:21 That's the classic Portuguese nata and then these flavours here,
01:25 this is us being English, messing with everybody else's food.
01:28 You don't get flavours like this in Portugal.
01:31 We've added chocolate orange, chocolate, biscoff, lemon, cherries and raspberries.
01:36 So what's the best thing about owning your own business?
01:40 Okay, the best thing for me is I am meeting new people every single day.
01:46 Where you can see in Leeds, Leeds is one of the busiest cities
01:50 and one of the best markets so far.
01:53 Loads of people come around here.
01:54 There's a shopping centre on the left, there's High Street on the right,
01:58 which is like about six, seven exits and I'm loving meeting new people every single day.
02:03 And what I'm going to explain to you a little bit about my business, what I do,
02:08 I do Greek olives and I've got Turkish delights and I've got a Turkish chef
02:13 who makes fresh baklava every day, which you can see.
02:16 So I offer customers to try before they buy anything in my stall.
02:22 You never know they have tried it somewhere else and they come and just buy and say no.
02:26 Please, I put this toothpick in the olive and I offer them to try one.
02:31 After trying, they can buy anything they want.
02:34 I have to make sure my customer is satisfied with what they're buying from me
02:40 or what they haven't caused.
02:42 I want my customers to come back again and again and again,
02:46 which will make me happy and I know they are happy.
02:49 That's why they come back to me.
02:50 Thank you very much and I love you all.
02:52 What do you like most about being part of a small business?
02:54 Travelling the country and meeting customers.
02:57 And what do you have on offer here?
03:00 We have a selection of festive cakes.
03:02 We're offering mulled wine, mulled gin, mulled cider, hot chocolate
03:07 and you can always have your favourite dimple in with the hot chocolate as well.
