00:00 "There is a recognition that nuclear energy being a source of carbon dioxide, and clean energy
00:07 plays an important role in removing carbon from the global chain.
00:14 And in the COP28, there was a recognition that we should accelerate nuclear energy, not just
00:19 use it, but accelerate it.
00:21 And this is what we see in the world.
00:23 We see this here in the UAE, where nuclear energy represents 25% of energy.
00:28 We see this in China, and we see it in Russia, and we see it in India, Europe, and Latin
00:33 America.
00:34 So there is a wide movement of the region towards more nuclear energy, which currently
00:38 provides 10 to 12% of the world's energy production, and is expected to double in the
00:44 next two or three decades.
00:46 At the moment, a very important step was taken last year in Europe, when nuclear energy
00:51 was also considered, among what is called the green class, energy suitable for general
00:56 use.
00:58 This was not the case in the past, so there is a recognition that nuclear energy is attractive.
01:02 We see a lot of private money going to nuclear reactors, traditional nuclear reactors, and
01:07 also small standard reactors.
01:09 So we see a movement towards increasing the levels of investment everywhere.
01:14 We expect to double the capacity of nuclear energy by the year 2050.
01:18 And as you know, there is not one size that suits everyone, but it is clear that a
01:23 large number of countries, especially the industrial economies, but also many developing
01:27 countries, are adding more nuclear energy to this mixture.
01:32 With Iran, the agency has been working for a long time to obtain clarifications, to obtain
01:38 more information about some activities that require this.
01:42 So there was not much progress in the past year, but the agency continues in this effort.
01:48 so, but the Agency continues in this effort.
