00:00 The Barclays women's Super League men's side derby will kick off at 1pm on Sunday 24th
00:06 March. Taking place at Goodison Park last season, the fixture saw a club record crowd
00:11 of more than 22,000.
00:12 "Growing up I would always looked up at male players and I thought I want to be like them.
00:18 Where you see girls from the age of 2, 3 onwards with jerseys with our names on the back. Which
00:25 is really exciting that they're coming to watch us week in week out and they're inspired
00:29 by us. I feel like it's really nice to see that they have role models and they have the
00:35 opportunity to see where women's football is going."
00:39 Since its introduction in the 2019/2020 season, Women's Football Weekend, which includes four
00:45 derbies this year, has seen record attendances across the women's game and has continued
00:50 to connect fans with the love of football.
00:52 "My time here in the WSL each year has progressively gotten better and better and I think the interest
00:58 has always been there of course to see the women's game but I think it's just continuing
01:01 to grow and to have these games at the men's stadium and see us pack out the stadiums and
01:07 obviously get bigger attendances is really important for us so I think it's great that
01:11 we're continuing to do that."
01:12 So far this season, attendance records have been broken all around the country.
01:16 "I wouldn't say more pressure. I just feel like playing in front of a really big crowd
01:24 and fans being there for you is like helping you. That extra man in the back, it makes
01:32 you want to run the extra mile and go into that extra tackle, you know?"
01:38 With plans to go the extra mile, the campaign for this year's Super League uses CGI featuring
01:43 a familiar Liverpool landmark.
01:45 "It means the world to our fans and it means the world to the club and the players as well.
01:50 It means a lot to us so I think there's a lot of pride on the line and it's obviously
01:54 a massive day for the city and hopefully we can make notice I'd read."
