00:00 Please, I encourage everybody to adapt more than buying.
00:03 I hope you will adapt because there are hundreds, even thousands of
00:08 rescued aspids and bullspits waiting to be given a home and a family.
00:23 I would say grade school when I became, I guess, aware in general of animal welfare.
00:30 Different groups, animal welfare groups, particularly POS, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society.
00:37 But it wasn't until college that I became more active as a volunteer in POS.
00:44 And of course, when I entered the show business, that's when I used my platform, my voice.
00:51 And I became the most active as an advocate of animal welfare.
00:58 I shouldn't be the one getting attention, but it should be, you know,
01:08 let's say, the animals, the aspids, the bullspits, or the shelters.
01:14 They are the ones who deserve attention, they are the ones who deserve comments.
01:19 But of course, that's a good thing that I receive lots of comments.
01:23 But I hope they will give more attention to what we advocate.
01:29 So that's what's more deserving of your comments and your thanks and praises.
01:35 Think about it well.
01:43 I know a lot of people want to have pets.
01:47 A lot of people want to buy.
01:49 And then there are some who want to adopt.
01:52 My advice is to think about it hard.
01:55 Because once you've made a decision, there's no turning back, no turning back.
02:03 And if you're really committed, go, please, I encourage everybody to adopt.
02:08 More than buying, I hope you'll adopt because there are hundreds, even thousands,
02:13 of rescued aspids and bullspits waiting to be given a home and a family.
02:20 So I would always say, the love of a rescue is different.
02:26 The love of an adopted pet is different as compared to the pet you bought.
02:32 Some of them are grateful, some are compassionate.
02:35 And knowing that you've changed the life of a rescue,
02:40 that's a big thing. It's very fulfilling.
02:43 So I encourage everybody to adopt, of course, if you are committed and ready.
02:48 There are many ways.
02:55 If you can't adopt, you can advocate, you can donate, you can volunteer, and you can use your voice.
03:09 Of course, I will continue to volunteer.
03:12 I will use my voice and my platform to help spread awareness,
03:18 particularly focusing on dog meat trade,
03:24 being consistent in encouraging spaying and neutering,
03:30 and it's very important to help minimize the spread of unwanted pets,
03:39 especially strays.
03:41 Encouraging adoption.
03:43 So there, dog meat trade, spaying and neutering, adoption.
03:47 And last, to touch more on the artists against animal cruelty,
03:54 especially since the local government has signed the Bureau of Animal Industry
03:59 that rule, what do you call that?
04:03 That administrative order that we need to be particular
04:08 and careful in using animals in filmmaking, whether for TV or big screen.
