00:00Secretary Austin, sir, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Golan briefed National Security Advisor
00:05Jake Sullivan on Rafa plans and humanitarian efforts.
00:09At least according to the readout, it seems it's more detailed.
00:12Have you seen the plans that Sullivan was briefed on, and does it meet the requirements
00:17of what you want to see in terms of what Israel needs to do before an operation in Rafa?
00:22And then General Brown, sir, as Ukraine tries to defend itself against a renewed Russian
00:26offensive in Kharkiv, do you believe Ukraine should be able to use American weaponry to
00:31target Russian forces that are just right across the border there?
00:34Is that a recommendation you would make?
00:37Thanks.
00:38I've not seen the information that was briefed to Mr. Sullivan, but, you know, as you know,
00:48I talk to Minister Golan every week, and I would expect that he would detail the information
00:56in that briefing to me as well.
00:58So – and I'll talk to Jake Sullivan as soon as he's available.
01:04But because of that, I won't speculate as to whether or not it meets any kind of requirements.
01:11But again, we've been clear about what we think is very, very important, and that is
01:17to make sure that the civilians that are in that battle space are moved out of the battle
01:22space before any activity occurs in that city.
01:26So we'll see what happens.
01:30Our focus in support of Ukraine is being able to use capabilities, particularly the things
01:33that will impact the close battle in various areas.
01:37And we're paying attention to what's going on in and around Kharkiv.
01:40I won't publicly talk about what I might advise, but as we continue to support them,
01:45I'll continue to work with the Secretary as we make our recommendations going forward.
01:49But the real key point is using the capabilities that we provided in the close battle in the
01:53areas that they are doing on the fronts that they're already operating on, as well as
01:58into Crimea.
