00:00 Could a peace deal on Gaza be in sight?
00:02 According to a top adviser, Israel has agreed to the framework for US President Joe Biden's plan
00:08 to bring an end to the war in Gaza, although stressed it was flawed and in need of much more
00:13 work. "It's a deal we agreed to. It's not a good deal, but we dearly want the hostages released,
00:20 all of them." If implemented, the three-part proposal would begin with a six-week ceasefire
00:27 in which the Israeli defence forces would withdraw from populated areas in Gaza,
00:31 secure the release of hostages and outline reconstruction plans for Gaza.
00:36 Joe Biden's already hailed several ceasefire proposals, each of them with similar frameworks
00:41 to this one, all of which have collapsed. Netanyahu's previously said he won't budge
00:46 or consider a permanent ceasefire until all of his objectives are met, notably the destruction
00:52 of Hamas' military capabilities. Meanwhile, pressure on Netanyahu from families of hostages
00:57 continues to mount. Along with tens of thousands of people, they took to the streets of Tel Aviv
01:03 on Saturday.
01:04 This is your last chance to make sure Netanyahu does not thwart the deal again.
01:16 Use your voice and tell the public you are supporting the deal.
01:21 Politically, the Prime Minister is fighting to keep his coalition government intact.
01:26 While far-right ministers Itamar Ben-Vir and Bezalel Smordzic
01:30 threatened to quit and dissolve the government if the deal is successful,
01:34 the head of Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid,
01:37 warned the Prime Minister to accept the proposal regardless.
01:40 Hamas stated on Friday that it viewed the proposal positively without going into further detail.
