00:00Three athletes are competing in various competitions abroad,
00:06including the half-Pinay golfer Yuka Saso,
00:11who has a message for the Filipinos.
00:13Here's Jon Veneracion.
00:19It seems that the heart of the half-Filipino golfer, Yuka Saso,
00:23hasn't changed since she won her second U.S. Women's Open in Pennsylvania.
00:27That's even though her citizenship is now new,
00:29unlike in 2021 when she was still a Filipino.
00:32I'm thankful for my family back in the Philippines
00:34and all my sponsors who've been supporting me
00:38you know, through ups and downs,
00:41and all the trust that they've given me.
00:43Even though she represents Japan in the tournament,
00:46will her Filipino identity not be taken away from her?
00:48That will never change.
00:51You know, I love growing up in the Philippines
00:53and I always go back there.
00:55If I could put two flags beside my name, I would.
00:58That's why even though Saso is preparing to represent Japan
01:01in the 2024 Paris Olympics,
01:03she remains an inspiration to the Filipino golfers.
01:07You just have to work hard and give yourself chances and grab it.
01:11Maxine Esteban is also an inspiration to Phil Ivoria,
01:14even though she's an Ivory Coast who won silver in the African Championships
01:19in the Women's Senior Foil Individual Event in Casablanca, Morocco.
01:23Philinda Grizzy-Bosca won silver in the 2024 Singapore International Open Championships
01:31Mixed Senior Division.
