00:00It's not a turn-around situation, it's actually trying to bring us to the next level.
00:08The Badminton Association of Malaysia has engaged external experts to make a 360-degree
00:15transformation of the sports body to meet emerging challenges.
00:20The tie-up with private consulting firm Pemandu Associates covers every aspect of BAM's operations
00:26and is seen as an unprecedented move in national sports administration.
00:31BAM President Norza Zakaria said there is a critical need for a 360-degree makeover,
00:38adding that the collaboration would ensure Malaysia remained a top badminton nation.
00:45Norza said the new approach would move BAM forward with bold leadership
00:50and help develop strategies in new technologies, shifting demographics and evolving trends.
00:57We need to get an independent body to evaluate the way that we do things
01:04and where we can improve of getting the right return from the money that we invest.
01:11Norza noted that BAM was at a pivotal juncture and needed to refine its methodology,
01:17including re-examining its performance, financial management,
01:21training and development approach, and governance.
01:25To ensure sustainable progress, we must institutionalize this reform
01:29and embedding them within our systems rather than relying solely on individual effort,
01:35as I often emphasize, no one is bigger than the institution.
