01:31Q fever is caused by a bacteria called Coxiella burnetti

01:35which is not only transmitted to goats but also to cows and mules.

01:40What's more dangerous is that

01:42the bacteria is transmitted to humans

01:46and when humans touch it, it also replicates.

01:50It is transferred via tics to the urine and feces and birthing fluids of the cows.

01:57The Provincial Health Office of Marinduque is closely monitoring

02:00the condition of the people who had contact with the goats that tested positive for Q fever.

02:04According to the Department of Health,

02:06symptoms usually appear in humans 2 to 3 weeks after being exposed.

02:11The symptoms include fever, fatigue, or excessive fatigue,

02:15headache, nausea, dizziness, and vomiting.

02:19It is better to avoid touching animals that do not only have Q fever.

02:24If exposed, consult a doctor immediately.

02:27Even if Q fever has entered the country,

02:29the Department of Agriculture and Bureau of Animal Industry

02:33ensures that they do everything to avoid spreading it.

02:36Aside from goats, other animals such as mules, cows, and mules may also be infected.
