00:00Chaos and unity collided in the streets of the UK last night, as police launched a series
00:05of dawn raids targeting seriously violent rioters from recent far-right protests.
00:10Early this morning, the Metropolitan Police, led by Sir Mark Rowley, stormed the homes
00:15of the most violent rioters from last week's chaotic protests in Whitehall, branding these
00:19individuals as criminal thugs.
00:22While ten individuals were taken into custody, Sir Rowley praised the incredible show of
00:26unity from communities across the nation.
00:30Thousands of anti-racism demonstrators flooded the streets, outnumbering and overshadowing
00:35the far-right gatherings, effectively halting their plans for widespread chaos.
00:39Reportedly, around 100 hate-fueled protests were scheduled across England, organized in
00:45secret on the social media app Telegram.
00:48However, many of these protests fizzled out as anti-racism activists turned out in force,
00:54with up to 25,000 demonstrators standing strong in cities across the UK.
00:59This morning's police raids are just the beginning.
01:02Authorities have pledged to continue their crackdown, not only on those involved in the
01:06riots, but also on individuals spreading hate and inciting violence online.
01:11As the nation braced for the worst, GP and hospital appointments were cancelled, shops
01:15were boarded up, and footfall on UK high streets plummeted after the riots left a trail of
01:20destruction.
01:21But amid the turmoil, the solidarity shown by communities has been a beacon of hope,
01:26proving that unity can indeed foil the plans of those who seek to spread hate.
01:31What do you think about the police response and the community's role in stopping the
01:34chaos?
