00:17McLauchlan. The two love birds have been married since 2019. Miranda Lambert is looking back
00:24on her love story with husband Brendan McLauchlan. While making an appearance on Bunny XO,
00:29newest Dunblonde podcast episode this week, Lambert offered fans a rare glimpse inside
00:35her relationship with McLauchlan, whom she married in early 2019. The country superstar
00:42first met McLauchlan, a former NYPD officer, while performing on Good Morning America with
00:48her band, the Pistol Annies, in November 2018. McLauchlan worked security for the show and was
00:55later given a ticket to Lambert's concert that night.
00:59"'My security invited him. They kind of knew some of the same people, so my security
01:04team invited him to the show,' Lambert recalled in a clip from the podcast episode shared
01:10to TikTok.
01:11"'We gave him one ticket. No plus one. He came by himself, and we met up after the show.
01:18I didn't even see him before the show. We met up after and hung out and talked,' she
01:24explained.
01:25"'I didn't really know. There wasn't an agenda rally. It was just like, hey, nice
01:30to meet you. He was super cool. We talked and just kept in touch.'
01:35That's when she revealed the old school way she kept in touch with McLauchlan, by writing
01:40literal letters to one another. Bunny, who is married to country star Jelly Roll, couldn't
01:47help but gush over Lambert's admission, calling it romantic how the couple first connected.
01:52"'I was like, do you wanna be pen pals? He was like, write letters with pens. I was
01:59like, yeah, Lambert, 40,' further recalled.
02:03"'He's eight years younger. So that was really mind-blowing to him.'
02:07Going on to talk more about their dynamic, the Wranglers singer.
02:11"'Side, we just hit it off. We're very different, but we come from the same background.
02:17He's from a law enforcement and first responder family. Our attitudes aligned. And he's someone
02:24in my life that is not a yes person. I don't believe in surrounding yourself with yes people
02:30at all. And I don't do that. I don't think it's healthy mentally,' she said before calling
02:36her husband very honest.
02:37"'He's a harsh New Yorker. And I like that because he just tells it like it is. He doesn't
02:43sugarcoat. He calls me a my she-h-t,' she added.
02:47Love this story," one fan wrote in the comments after seeing Bunny's TikTok clip.
02:53"'I'm glad she found her person,' added another.
