00:03The 2024 presidential election has established its presence in global betting markets.
00:08According to Forbes, wagering on the election is illegal in the U.S.,
00:11but it is being facilitated by offshore betting sites.
00:14USA Today reports that sites such as Bet365, Bovada,
00:18BetOnline, and OddsChecker currently have former President Trump as the favorite.
00:23However, Forbes says that BetOnline has Vice President Harris favored to win Tuesday's debate,
00:28as measured by an ABC-affiliated poll.
00:30And the bets get even more specific than that,
00:32including whether Trump and Harris will shake hands — odds say no —
00:36and what the primary color of Trump's suit will be — odds say blue.
00:40Newsweek reports that the markets had been favoring Harris in the election last month,
00:43but her numbers began to slide after her joint CNN interview with running mate Tim Walz.
00:48However, RealClearPolling's averages still have Harris narrowly ahead by 1.4 percent.
