00:00A word spoken by the mother has changed the way that boy thinks.
00:04This boy, who had fun until then, has put on a social responsibility.
00:09He stands in support of poor students who want to study and feels proud.
00:13Not only that, he takes interested students to Canada and gives them higher education.
00:30This boy, who speaks to students with a smile, is Rohan Jagannath Bhaskar Cherla.
00:51His parents, Kiran and Kiranmayil, settled in Canada.
00:54He was born and raised there.
00:55His grandfather, Visakha A.V.N. Kalasala, was a teacher there.
01:00When Rohan came to see Kalasala, which was taught by his grandfather,
01:03Rohan was amazed to see students working in many places.
01:26Rohan asked his mother, why do students work when they have to study?
01:37Rohan started thinking with her answer that they are not financially able to study.
01:43He decided to help people around him to study financially like him.
01:48With the support of his Canadian friend Joseph, Rohan established the JB Foundation.
01:54In 2023, I saw many students who did not go to school.
01:59I asked my mother, why do students not go to school?
02:03She said, they do not have the financial support to go to school.
02:08That is why they are on the streets.
02:11In 2024, I thought, I have to make a difference.
02:16I spoke to multiple lawyers in Canada.
02:20I created a foundation, Bright Futures, the JB Foundation.
02:24I collected funds from Canada.
02:27In two weeks, I collected around Rs. 3000.
02:31Rohan spoke to Visakha A.V.N. Kalasala officials,
02:34and provided financial support to poor students through the JB Foundation.
02:39From Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000, Kalasala paid 37 students.
02:44Kalasala increased the amount to Rs. 50,000 and provided around Rs. 6,000,000.
02:50Kalasala decided to increase the amount to Rs. 200,000.
02:54When I applied, I got nearly 200 applications.
02:58Thankfully, a friend from my class, Canada Private School, Joseph Marshall, came.
03:03He helped me a lot.
03:07I introduced around 80 applications.
03:11The auditorium was huge.
03:15I gave scholarships to around 50 students.
03:19I gave scholarships to around 6,00,000 students.
03:23Now, in the future, hopefully, in 6-7 months,
03:27next year, we will come back.
03:30Hopefully, if we get 500-600 applications,
03:34then we will give scholarships to 100-200 students.
03:38So, that's my plan in the future.
03:40To help maybe with uniforms, or books, or computers.
03:44But now, we are a startup.
03:47So, to help a lot in Canada,
03:49I will look for donors, or how some companies can help us.
03:53So, that's it.
03:54After listening to what you said,
03:56Rohanthalli Hiranmai says that social service is a good thing.
03:59If you help a poor student,
04:01rather than saying yes,
04:03you are saying that he didn't get any help.
04:06Hiranmai says that she is very happy
04:08that her son is doing many things that she couldn't do.
04:11I feel very good.
04:13Thank you very much.
04:14My name is Sai Hiranmai.
04:15My son, Rohan Chirla, told him when he was 15 years old,
04:19I have to do something.
04:20Many children in India,
04:22even if their education is bright,
04:24they don't have financial support.
04:27I will support them.
04:29When he was 16 years old,
04:30he came up with the idea to support us.
04:34He did all the work.
04:35He collected donations.
04:37He called out everyone.
04:39So, I feel very proud.
04:42But, one thing is that
04:44we all think we should do good.
04:46He did it.
04:47So, that's a very proud moment as a mother.
04:50Her father, Dr. Kiran Chirla,
04:52she is also feeling very proud.
04:54To the service that Rohan is doing,
04:56the teachers of Kalasala are expressing happiness.
04:59They are praising that they are serving the elderly.
05:03When I was young,
05:05I had a very good thought in my mind.
05:08I wanted to do something for all the students.
05:11If we give education,
05:13their families will also move forward.
05:16With this intention,
05:18Rohan Chirla came forward
05:20and organized this event.
05:23I am very happy as a principal.
05:25Because I studied in this Kalasala.
05:28Even when I was studying,
05:29I know how difficult it is.
05:31I know the value of every rupee.
05:33Stopping education can happen in any way.
05:36But, we should not stop education
05:38without money.
05:40With this intention,
05:42we, the correspondent,
05:44our teaching staff,
05:46are all working very hard.
05:48It is a great honor for us
05:50to have such people come forward
05:52and encourage our students
05:54and give scholarships to so many people.
05:58Last time, we gave scholarships to 14 people.
06:00This time, we are giving around 5 lakhs
06:02to 50 people.
06:04It is not a small thing.
06:06We are very grateful to Rohan
06:08who has such a big heart.
06:10He is a blessing to us.
06:12In the future,
06:14we hope that he will support
06:16many more children.
06:18The students who received support from Rohan
06:20are expressing their happiness.
06:22They say that the burden on their parents
06:24has been reduced
06:25and their enthusiasm for education has increased.
06:27I am really thankful to JB's foundation
06:30because they gave me this scholarship
06:33for the second time.
06:35The first time,
06:37I got 10,000 rupees.
06:39But now,
06:41they gave me 12,000 rupees.
06:43I cleared my college fees
06:47for that money.
06:51So, we are feeling very happy.
06:54I was very excited.
06:56Even during the interview,
06:58they were very friendly.
07:00Madam and Rohan.
07:02They were very friendly.
07:04They asked me how much I could pay.
07:06They asked me if I had any problems at home.
07:08I told them that I had problems
07:10and they paid me.
07:12Now, I have 5,000 rupees.
07:14I told them that I could pay them.
07:16We picked five students.
07:18We interviewed five students
07:20from my private school.
07:22We picked one student
07:24from 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th
07:26and all the way to 12th.
07:28He studied in Canada.
07:30Then, Canadian universities,
07:32American universities,
07:34all the doors opened.
07:36His life changed.
07:38He is not financially well,
07:40but he is very bright.
07:42He has a lot of motivation.
07:44Rohan is moving forward
07:46by making the poor students who want to study
07:48real.
07:50He is going to Canada with his wife.
