As talks are held in Washington, Ukraine's First Lady says her country needs more help from Western allies and describes the devastation the war has brought to a generation of Ukraine’s children. Speaking to ITV News, Olena Zelenska says: "We don't want childhood to be stolen from kids but unfotunately it happens now. We need to make sure this terrible experience for our children will not break their lives forever." Report by Kennedyl. 00:00Kids who were born after 24th February 2022 are almost 3 years old.
00:08These kids can walk, talk.
00:12They are conscious kids who never saw Ukraine without war.
00:17It really embarrasses me.
00:20We don't want it to continue.
00:23We don't want childhood to be stolen from kids,
00:27but unfortunately it happens now.
00:30In our tumultuous life we cannot be sure of anything,
00:34but we need to make sure this terrible experience for our children
00:39will not break their lives forever.
00:42Too often we were seen as just the person who accompanies,
00:48the plus one in diplomatic protocols,
00:51and actually it is not absolutely fair,
00:54because each of us has projects, missions and activities
00:59in humanitarian and social spheres, in our countries and in general.
01:03When we get united, we can do more.
