00:00The Newcastle United Supporters Trust have issued a letter against comments made by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan,
00:07who spoke on the possibility of Premier League games being played overseas.
00:11Board member Adam Stoker explained why the letter was written.
00:14As much as we see Premier League clubs jet off abroad every pre-season for lucrative pre-season tours,
00:22it is naturally the English Premier League and no competitive game has ever been played outside of this country,
00:32and it's been things that fans have fought hard to retain in the past.
00:36So you see, for instance, I think it was 2008 when the 39th game was proposed with games overseas.
00:43Fans fought really, really a strong battle in that case to ensure that that didn't happen and that the games are kept in this country.
