00:00Polo here in UAE, I mean, it's been quite long now, the history, and this club, I mean,
00:22with Mohamed Al Khattour started six years ago.
00:27He's always been passionate about polo and everything.
00:30He built the club, he built the fields, and we managed to do quite a busy season, you
00:36know, with tournaments and guests, people here at the hotel, new patrons coming from
00:42Europe, from America, from Australia, so, I mean, we are opening ourselves, you know,
00:49to the polo world, and everyone is quite enthusiastic here in Dubai.
00:54I used to play in the UK, but here it's a lot more fun, a lot more challenging, a lot
00:58more exciting, and yeah, it's just a lot more fun than over there, and then you have the
01:04beautiful weather as well.
01:05I've been coming here for about seven years, so we do season here, polo season is from
01:11October until the end of April, and it's really nice, I think it's one of the best destinations
01:15in the world for polo, and we really enjoy our time here in Dubai.
01:19I'm a patron from the United Kingdom, based in Yorkshire, this is our first season here
01:24in Dubai, and we're playing the high goal with our sponsor, Davy Paradise.
01:28I think Mohammed Abdul is doing a great job here, and yeah, I think it's some of the best
01:33polo in this time of the year in the world.
01:36Well I started riding when I was three, but I'd always done show jumping, dressage, cross
01:57country, then eventually, around four years ago, my coach left, so I decided I want to
02:01try polo, it seems fun, fast, so I'd give it a go.
02:05Yes, it can get fast at times, but in order to keep the horse in control, you just have
02:09to have that connection with it, and you have to be strong, know what you're doing, and
02:14be ready for anything, really.
02:15We ride, and before play, we ride every day, and we like, know them.
02:23My father plays, and I like horses, and I think it's a fun game.
