00:00Haggai. Chapter 1. In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day
00:09of the month, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel,
00:15governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedach the high priest, saying, Thus speaketh
00:22the Lord of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time of the Lord's house
00:29should be built. Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, Is it time for you,
00:35O ye, to dwell in your sealed houses, and this house lie waste? Now therefore thus saith the
00:43Lord of hosts, Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little. Ye eat, but ye have not
00:52enough. Ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink. Ye clothe you, but there is none warm.
00:59And he that earneth wages, earneth wages, to put it into a bag with holds. Thus saith the
01:05Lord of hosts, Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the
01:12house. And I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord. Ye looked
01:19for much, and lo, it came to little. And when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why,
01:25saith the Lord of hosts? Because of mine house that is waste. And ye run every man unto his
01:32own house. Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from
01:40her fruit. And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the
01:45corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth,
01:51and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hens. Then Zerubbabel the son of
01:58Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedek, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people,
02:04obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet as the Lord their God
02:09had sent him. And the people did fear before the Lord. Then spake Haggai the Lord's messenger,
02:16in the Lord's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the Lord. And the Lord stirred up
02:23the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the
02:28son of Josedek, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people. And they came
02:34and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts their God. In the four and twentieth day of the
02:41sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king. Chapter 2. In the seventh month, in the one and
02:50twentieth day of the month, came the word of the Lord by the prophet Haggai, saying, Speak now to
02:55Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedek, the high priest,
03:02and to the residue of the people, saying, Who is left among you that saw this house in her first
03:08glory? And how do ye see it now? Is it not in your eyes, in comparison of it as nothing? Yet now be
03:16strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord. And be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedek, the high priest. And be
03:23strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work, for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts.
03:30According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth
03:36among you. Fear ye not, for thus saith the Lord of hosts, Yet once it is a little while, and I will
03:44shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land, and I will shake all nations,
03:50and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord
03:57of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts. The glory of this latter
04:04house shall be greater than the former, saith the Lord of hosts. And in this place will I give
04:10peace, saith the Lord of hosts. In the four-and-twentieth day of the ninth month, in the
04:16second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord
04:22of hosts, Ask now the priest concerning the law, saying, If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his
04:29garment, and with his skirt to touch bread or pottage, or wine or oil, or any meat, shall it
04:35be holy? And the priest answered and said, No. Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead
04:43body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priest answered and said, It shall be unclean.
04:51Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord,
04:59and so is every work of their hands, and that which they offer there is unclean. And now, I pray you,
05:07consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the
05:14Lord. Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten.
05:22When one came to the press fat, for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but
05:28twenty. I smote you with blasting, and with mildew, and with hail, and all the labors of your hands,
05:35yet ye turned not to me, saith the Lord. Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and
05:42twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was
05:47laid, consider it. Is the seed yet in the barn? Yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the
05:55pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth. From this day will I bless you. And again
06:03the word of the Lord came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying, Speak to
06:09Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth, and I will overthrow
06:16the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen, and I
06:21will overthrow the chariots and those that ride in them, and the horses and their riders shall come
06:27down every one by the sword of his brother. In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, will I take thee,
06:34O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Sheautiel, saith the Lord, and will make thee as a signet,
06:42for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts.
