00:00In an era where climate change dominates global discourse,
00:08humanity faces an increasing vulnerability to natural disasters.
00:14To address these mounting challenges,
00:16NASA and ISRO have joined forces in an extraordinary collaboration
00:20to launch the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar Satellite.
00:26This groundbreaking low-Earth orbit, Elio Observatory,
00:30promises to revolutionize the way we understand our dynamic planet.
00:36Equipped with state-of-the-art L- and S-band Synthetic Aperture Radar, SAR, systems,
00:44NASA will use the SweepSAR technique to deliver high-resolution images
00:49across vast swaths of the Earth's surface.
00:52Incredibly, it will map the entire globe every 12 days,
00:56offering unprecedented consistency in spatial and temporal data.
01:04NYSAR's mission is nothing short of transformative.
01:08From tracking glacial melt and monitoring agricultural landscapes
01:13to analyzing seismic shifts and managing disaster response,
01:17it will empower scientists, researchers, and policymakers with vital insights.
01:23By precisely measuring minuscule movements and colossal environmental events alike,
01:29NYSAR will help us decode Earth's complex ecosystems and natural hazards.
01:35This flagship mission sees NASA contributing the L-band SAR, engineering payloads,
01:41and critical systems like GPS receivers and the solid-state recorder.
01:47ISRO provides the S-band SAR spacecraft bus in its vehicle, GSLV-F16.
01:53NYSAR will be launched from the Spaceport of India, SDSC-Shar.
01:58A majestic 12-meter unfurlable reflector antenna will unite the dual-band systems,
02:05enabling powerful Earth observations from orbit.
02:08With an open data policy and the NYSAR utilization program, NYSAR-UPI,
02:14encouraging Indian researchers to lead transformative studies,
02:18this mission symbolizes a leap towards sustainable living and informed disaster resilience.
02:26NYSAR is not just a satellite.
02:28It's a symbol of global unity, scientific excellence, and hope.
02:33It promises to safeguard our future by helping humanity lives more wisely with nature.
