00:03You know what? I went to kind of a Catholic school, so we were very, very strict,
00:08and I had to wear uniforms and nuns for teachers, and you were allowed to be spanked if your parents consented,
00:14but my parents, like, never consented, so I heard about kids getting spanked all the time,
00:18and, like, coming back from the principal's office crying and stuff, but my mom, like, wouldn't allow it,
00:23so my punishment was, like, when I'd get in trouble when I was a little kid,
00:26I was to stand against the wall with my arms up for, like, a certain amount of time.
00:30And that was what the nuns did?
00:31Yeah, well, yeah, yeah, and then, yeah, I'd have to stand with, like, a book on my arms or something, yeah.
00:36Were there any other kids in your class who were not allowed to be spanked?
00:39Um, I think my friend Erin, her mom wouldn't let her get spanked either, so.
00:43But most kids got spanked.
00:44Yeah, they would, like, that's the reason they were in the Catholic school, you know, to be disciplined sternly and stuff, so.
00:49But my mom and her mom went to the same church and all that stuff, so.
00:54I'm not really religious now or anything like that, but I had to go to Catholic school and, like, wear the skirts and all that stuff, so.
01:00You never got spanked there?
01:01Yeah, yeah.
01:01At home, no spanking at home?
01:03No, like, that was my punishment.
01:04I was to stand, like, with my nose in the corner and stuff like that or, like, spend hours in my room, you know, and stuff like that, so.
01:10And I had, like, all my toys in my room, so.
01:12Were any of your parents, um, I mean, I'm sorry, any of your friend's parents, did they spank their kids or?
01:17Um, you know what, not that, like, I don't know, I grew up in kind of, like, a, you know, well-to-do, like, Christian, you know, really tight-knit, like, the whole community and the block was really close and stuff.
01:30So they were, like, if it didn't happen, like, I didn't ever, you know, the kids were really nice and stuff, and I had all kinds of kids to play with that.
01:37They were all, like, me, they were, like, really happy all the time.
01:40I just remember, like, always playing when I was little kids, so.
