00:00Isabel, let's start with you. So earlier today, Netanyahu was speaking to Fox News and he told them he planned to take full control over Gaza.
00:10However, he said Israel wants a security parameter. How exactly, Isabel, will this work in theory?
00:20Well, there are huge questions about all of this and of course it raises serious alarm bells.
00:24Why are we not talking about ending the situation in Gaza? Why is the discussion suddenly about expanding it?
00:32And of course, from the perspective of those living in the Gaza Strip, there will be concern.
00:3688% already controlled by the Israelis. What on earth is going to happen if and when some sort of security perimeter is put in place?
00:47Now, he's done this interview, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who's done an interview with Fox News.
00:52He's interesting that the Americans hear first about his thoughts before his own people, but that's another matter.
00:59And he has spoken to them and has said that he's not interested in occupying.
01:04He's not interested in governing. This is a temporary move.
01:06This would be, in his words, controlled by Arab forces.
01:11But there are legitimate questions about how indeed that would work.
01:15Now, expanding in the way that has been largely trailed today has sort of raised concerns about those Israeli hostages that are in places like Gaza City and that have so far been untouched by the Israelis.
01:30And this evening, Hamas has come out and said that basically this is a death warrant for those remaining hostages signed by the War Cabinet if this is approved tonight.
