00:00Freddie, let's start with you here. Now, what are your thoughts on this new one-in, one-out scheme?
00:07Will it work and will it stop the boats? Will it deter people?
00:11Well, my rather perverse thought on this is that I've spent, you know, we've all spent the last few years in Britain
00:18listening to governments come up with plans as to how they're going to stop the boats crisis.
00:23And all these plans sound great and never happen. The advantage that this one-in, one-out plan has is that it sounded terrible from the beginning.
00:34And so expectations are very low as to its success. And it looks as though there are actions being taken.
00:40And that's what Labour desperately wants to achieve, is to prove that they are getting tough on the border.
00:46They're doing what the British public want. But, you know, people in Westminster are calling it the 20-in, one-out policy.
00:57And I think that seems to be more likely. We'll see small, very theatrical removals of people who are not supposed to be here.
01:07But we're going to continue to see those numbers ticking up because those numbers keep ticking up of illegal arrivals in the country.
01:16And we're going to continue to see those numbers.
